YouTube announced in June to bring the picture-in-picture mode to iOS and now the feature is finally available but only for Premium subscribers (iOS) & perhaps for a limited time. After turning it on, the PiP feature will convert your typical YouTube player, into a mini player along with media controls when you close the YouTube app using a home key. It is one of the advantages of the YouTube Premium subscription because you can try experimental features.
