Twitter wants more focused visuals.
Twitter tests edge-to-edge media in the timeline in iOS to create a more full screen and “Instagram-like,” having more focus on a visual timeline.
Now testing on iOS: Edge to edge Tweets that span the width of the timeline so your photos, GIFs, and videos can have more room to shine.

In an email to The Verge – Popular technology news website, Twitter said that “it’s testing the change because it wants to better support conversations that are both visual and text-based.”
If this feature rolls out for all iOS and Android users in feature, it will help Twitter to tackle the concerns of its auto-image cropping algorithm raised by preferring while skin color. The new edge-to-edge timeline will eliminate the need for cropping to some extent.
In near past, Twitter’s design and color scheme caused some serious issue with people like headache and eye-strain. So, Twitter should note these issues while bringing new timeline in the testing.
