Today Corel has announced Parallels Desktop 17 for macOS. It is the latest version of Corel’s virtualization software. New parallels 17 is officially coming with Windows 11 support and it can even run previews. Parallels gained people’s attention after last year when Apple implemented ARM architecture into its macs. This transition restricted users to use Windows 11 on macs natively because there is no Bootcamp on ARM architecture on ARM architecture. Now, parallel 17 comes with Windows 11 support and much more.

Parallels 17 will let you run Windows 11 on your Mac without Bootcamp. Parallels 17 got official support for both Intel and M1 macs and it can even run Windows 11 preview if you are in the hustle.

“Our breakthrough of seamlessly running Windows 10 applications on Apple M1-based Mac computers was just the start of Parallels Desktop for Mac’s new chapter in offering enhanced user experiences running virtual machines on Mac devices. Parallels Desktop 17 for Mac continues to deliver performance and stability improvements as well as innovative, easy-to-use features on Intel and Apple M1 Mac, offering users the most advanced Windows-on-Mac experience ever. In collaboration with Apple, we’re thrilled to have created the world’s first prototype of a macOS Monterey virtual machine running on a Mac with Apple M1 chip.”

-Nick Dobrovolskiy, Senior Vice President of Engineering and Support, Parallels

Besides official support for Windows 11, Parallels 17 comes with many improvements, more speed, and fewer bugs than Parallels 16. According to parallels, 17 versions will run DirectX 11 28% better on M1 macs and 33% faster. Along with this speed, Parallels 17 will run 2D graphics 25% faster and OpenGL performance will be 6% times more. M1 users can also use BitLocker and Secure Boot because of the virtualization of the Trusted Platform Module (TPM).

Parallels 17 also comes with an enhanced Coherence Mode. Coherence mode lets you run both Mac and Windows applications alongside. You don’t have to run a virtual machine to run a Windows app. Both Windows and mac run seamlessly. The true meaning of The Parallels.
