The public release of Android 12 is around the corner and the Google has been updating its apps for the new Material You UI. Google is now testing the new and modern UI for the download panel and bookmarks section.

New UI update given the whole fresh look, unlike before where downloads were shown in the gray pop-up at the bottom, downloads are now shown at the top as a toast. After completion, downloads are shown as the same toast with the “Open” button on it. In the bookmarks section now icons are more squircle and have more space between.

The update download panel is enabled by default enables for the users who are currently using the Canary builds of Google Chrome. You can also enable them by toggling the “show download progress message” flag in chrome://flags. On the other hand, new look bookmarks are not enabled by default. Enable them by toggling the “enables the visual refresh for bookmarks” flag. These UI updates are currently the part of Canary build. Google didn’t tell if this will be the part of official Android 12 build or not.
