Avast and Norton are combining for $8.6 billion

Because of more than $8 billion deal, Avast is merging into NortonLifeLock. As a result, Norton will acquire all shares of Avast and form an anti-virus empire worth over 8 billion.

“With this combination, we can strengthen our cyber safety platform and make it available to more than 500 million users. We will also have the ability to further accelerate innovation to transform cyber safety.”

-Vincent Pilette, NortonLifeLock CEO

Cyber-security is inevitable these days and hacking activities are increasing day by day. This merging should cause the making of great products to help increase cybersecurity because of Avast’s focus on privacy and Norton’s focus on identification. Some days ago, hackers attached the virus “Crackonosh“ with pirated games and turned many gaming PCs into cryptocurrency mining machines. Avast also published a report about Crackonosh. Cybersecurity is critical for everyone now.

Avast was founded in the Czech Republic and has been popular in individuals and small businesses for 11 years. Avast acquired AVG five ago. Norton was formed in 1991 and has been popular ever since.
